How to Use the Pavilion for Rain Safe Outdoor Weddings
Rain is part of planning an outdoor wedding in South Carolina. At Adelaide Events Venue in Inman, SC, we plan for it from the start, so it never feels like a problem. Our pavilion exists to support outdoor ceremonies and receptions when the weather changes, without forcing couples indoors or disrupting the flow of the day.
The pavilion keeps outdoor weddings weather ready by providing a covered, open air space for ceremonies, receptions, and dancing. It protects guests from rain with a solid roof and optional roll down sides while maintaining the outdoor setting, allowing events to continue smoothly without moving indoors or changing the timeline.
We are an outdoor wedding venue. All ceremonies and receptions happen outside. The pavilion allows couples to stay outdoors while keeping guests comfortable and protected when rain appears.
How the Pavilion Supports Outdoor Ceremonies
The pavilion is a covered ceremony and reception space that accommodates up to 120 guests. It is open-air by design, allowing events to stay connected to the gardens while offering reliable coverage from rain. Roll-down sides are available when the weather requires additional protection.
Permanent drapery helps the space feel intentional and polished, even when it becomes the primary ceremony location. This makes transitions simple and calm, without last-minute layout changes.
A Clear Rain Plan Without Changing the Experience
Many couples plan a garden ceremony and choose the pavilion as their rain plan. When rain appears, the ceremony moves under cover without losing the outdoor feel. Guests remain seated comfortably, and the timeline stays intact. Because the pavilion is designed for ceremonies and receptions, the shift feels natural instead of reactive.
Moving Guests Comfortably After the Ceremony
After the ceremony, guests transition easily into the cocktail hour and the reception. Covered areas throughout the property support smooth movement without umbrellas or rushed adjustments. This continuity matters most during unpredictable weather. The pavilion helps the celebration continue without pauses or confusion.
Dancing Through the Rain
The covered dance floor includes a clear top that protects guests while remaining open to natural light. It allows dancing to continue even during rain showers, especially in the evening when the weather often changes quickly. This feature keeps energy high and guests relaxed, regardless of conditions.
What Is Included With Your Wedding
Weddings at Adelaide include use of the pavilion, the covered dance floor, garden ceremony spaces, white ceremony chairs, reception tables, Chiavari chairs, linens, and decor from the Something Borrowed Room. This partnership ensures rain plans like the pavilion are executed smoothly without stress on the couple.
Photos During Rain
Rain often creates softer light across the property. Couples continue using the gardens, pavilion, and covered dance floor for photos. The open back field is available for photos and overflow parking, giving photographers flexibility without interrupting guest flow.
